Every year I look forward to Harvest Wine Weekend and checking out what all the wineries have planned. This year we headed to J Dusi winery on 46 West to indulge in their harvest festivities.
Janell Dusi is the woman behind the grapes, and thank goodness for that. Janell grew up on the Dusi vineyard and learned her trade right from her grandfather. So not only are the grapes’ roots firmly planted in this beautiful vineyard, but so are hers. And that pride comes through clear as day with each sip (especially those Zins). If you’re a Zin fan, then pour a glass and do a cheers to the Dusi family. They introduced some of the first Zinfandels to the Central Coast (thank you, thank you!).
I love J Dusi’s bright and airy tasting room. Its towering windows offer the perfect view out to the vineyard. While tasting we wandered outside to listen to some live music and soak in the landscape. Their patio is perfectly situated to overlook the endless rows of grapes and towering oaks. Views like that always remind me to be thankful of this beautiful place we call home!
I love this dress for fall. It’s that perfect “rust” color that transitions well from fall into the holiday season. I also think it’s a color that’s flattering on any skin tone or hair color. I paired it with black combat-style boots and leggings. I also like this, this and this option (all from Missguided) in rust.
Love this doggie! I’m a sucker for black labs (afterall we have one, but he’s Grumpy). This blue chew toy is the best too, we have one for our two pups and they love it. That’s an understatement, they loooove it. We have to hide it sometimes because they get so riled up trying to take it from each other. I guess we need two? That just means a trip back to the J Dusi tasting room to try that Zin again, shucks.
We also got to check out Clementine Cupcake Company’s new venture, Clementine Cupcake Company & Cookie Cafe (here on Facebook). And it’s on wheels! Sadie Agueda was our wedding dessert vendor behind the yummy cupcakes, so naturally we had to get our hands on some of her organic cookies (check out her amazing cupcake display in my wedding post!).
Here’s a glimpse at some other goodies in the tasting room. I love the stainless steel glasses, I need to get some of those for our next camping trip!
J Dusi Wines is located at 1401 Hwy 46. Until next time, Harvest Wine Weekend. Where did you head to for Harvest? Let us know in the comments!
